Our privacy principles
TailTalk is built on data minimization. The current version requires no account, uses no ad tracking, and never uploads your raw pet recordings to a server.
Information we handle
- Pet profiles you create, such as nickname, species, and age.
- Behavior and scene descriptions, plus interaction notes you enter yourself.
- Analysis summaries, possible intents, interaction suggestions, follow-up reactions, and accuracy feedback.
- Local preferences needed for the app to work, such as onboarding state and your free-analysis quota.
Recordings & the microphone
The microphone is used only after you actively start a recording. The current version runs its analysis locally on your device and does not upload raw recordings; recording files are used only as temporary files during analysis and are cleared at the end of the flow or by the system.
Local storage & deletion
Pet profiles, analysis summaries, interaction records, and feedback are stored locally on your device. You can delete a pet and its related records inside the app; uninstalling the app also deletes the local data.
Subscriptions & payments
Purchases, subscription status, and payments are handled by Apple StoreKit and the App Store. TailTalk does not read or store your full card or payment-account details.
Notifications
TailTalk requests notification permission and creates a local reminder only after you explicitly choose a reminder time. You can turn notifications off at any time in system settings.
Third-party sharing & tracking
The current version does not sell personal data, does not use data for cross-app ad tracking, and does not share pet profiles or interaction records with third-party analytics or ad services.
Future changes
If we introduce cloud models or account sync in the future, we will explain the purpose, retention period, and how to withdraw consent before any upload — and, where required, obtain your explicit consent again, while updating this policy.
